Social media time is about connecting with friends and family. According to the survey in this infographic 67% of people use social media to stay in touch with friends, 64% use it to stay in touch with family, and 5% use it to reconnect with old friends.

Social media sites are changing how we watch and engage with media content. More than 25 million photos are uploaded every day to social media. It is no wonder that people spend time browsing photos of friends and family. Video is a similar story, both men and women watch hundreds of millions of hours of video via social media.

Hunting for a job using social media can pay off. Who would have thought that social media sites are a great way to find jobs and connect with potential employers. The infographic states that as high as 41% of the class of 211 have used social media in their job search.

Social media has become an integral part of our lives. The importance of social media in modern life and business cannot be denied when 4 out of 5 internet users regularly visit social networks and blogs. With in excess of 17 million tweets per day and US citizens spending more time on Facebook than any other site, social media is here to stay.
