In this talk at the New York Pivot Conference, Britta Schell, Director of Digital Strategic Insights at MTV shares what she has learned from, in her own words, “chasing gen-y zeitgeists.”
One of the most important points raised by Ms. Schell is that gen-y’s, also called ‘Millenials’, are one of the first generations to have their lives almost fully integrated with social media. With the ubiquity of the internet today via smartphones, the integration of the digital-self and physical-self has potential to change everything.
The big question brewing on many minds now is how digital-physical convergence, the ubiquity of social media and changes in what we consider private vs. public are changing our culture, society and business.
What do you think? How will the convergence of your digital-physical self and your use of social media throughout the day change our world?
