According to this infographic on content marketing, budgets are expected to increase. On average, 26% of marketing budgets are spent on content marketing. In 2012, corporate investment in content marketing is expected to increase by a staggering 51%.
Is Content Marketing Just Hype
Despite the widespread adoption and continued investment in content marketing, around 41% of marketers believe it is ineffective. When asked about their confidence in other marketing activities, in-person events received the highest vote, followed by webcasts, email newsletters, case studies and print magazines.

Out of all sizes of companies, small businesses allocate the largest percentage of their marketing budget for content marketing. Small businesses with fewer than ten employees spend 34% of their budget on content marketing while larger companies spend between 21-25%.
